Octavia Green E Line

Most concepts on the motorshow floor are trying to amaze you with avantgarde design or surprising details. But Octavia Green E Line is different. Instead of the exterior, it puts emphasis on what’s hidden beneath the surface. And you can meet it on the real roads as well. Because new Octavia Green E Line is much more than just a concept...

Ten examples were built, with the purpose of gathering user experience with the electric drivetrain in the everyday traffic and contribute to the development of future hybrid or electric ŠKODA cars.
The Octavia Gree E Line is based on the popular ŠKODA Octaiva Combi, which is, thanks to it’s modular construction, perfect for installing the battery pack, electronics and electric motor. From the outside, the Green E Line is easily recognizable thanks to it’s with pearl white paint and aerodynamic chrome wheels.

The electric motor with constant output of 60kW and maximum output of 85kW represents the heart of the car. Thanks to the 270Nm maximum torque from zero rpm, it gives it exceptional acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 12 seconds, while top speed is limited to 135km/h.
Electric energy is supplied by the lithium-ion battery. It’s 26,5kWh capacity gives the Octavia Green E Line range of 140km, enough for daily commute of most Europeans. To fully recharge, it needs just 8 hours on ordinary 230V home socket.

The battery pack comprises of 180 cells and weighs approximately 315kg. It is located under the rear and middle section of the floor, and partly in the luggage compartment as well. Even so, the interior space was not diminished, still offering enough room for five passengers. Even the boot retained much of it’s original capacity with 490 litres. So, in contrast to most other today’s electric vehicles, it offers practicality and comfort of the real family car.
Strong combination of the light and dark elements creates fresh looking interior. Information about current output or energy consumption, as well as the remaining battery range, are displayed in the instrument panel. Navigation display shows energy flow at the moment – whether the energy is supplied to the electric motor from batteries, or conversely, the energy is being made by motor and fed back to the batteries.
